
About Barbara
Barbara is a seasoned leader with over 40 years of Human Resource experience working and consulting in a variety of industries, including: Higher Education, Banking/Financial, Corporate, R&D, Retail, Construction, Not-for-profit, Manufacturing, and Healthcare.
Barbara is a leadership coach and Human Resources consultant and assists leaders in achieving their business goals through developing leadership skills, including sharpening executive presence, increasing emotional intelligence, and improving communication style. She coaches leaders regarding approaches for managing organizational culture, developing teams, change management and talent management.
Previously, Barbara was the Chief Human Resource Officer and Associate VP for Finance and Administrations at Skidmore College for 22 years, leading a team and all areas of the Human Resources function, including significant work with labor-management relationships and as lead negotiator with six different unions.
Barbara has been an executive coach, consultant and facilitator focusing on the areas of: Change Management, Emotional Intelligence, Leader Transition and Integration, Executive Search, Interview & Selection approaches, Providing Effective Feedback, Team Building, Consensus Building, Leadership Development, Project Planning, and Conflict Resolution.
She has been a speaker and presenter for various organizations and conferences, including: The Consortium on Higher Achievement and Success, East Coast Higher Education Athletic Directors, numerous presentations at National and Regional College & University Professional Association for Human Resources conferences, various SHRM Associations as well as a guest lecturer at Cornell University and Skidmore College.
Barbara holds a master’s degree from Goucher College and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Hartwick College.
Barbara enjoys spending time with her family. She is a competitive sailor, an avid landscaper and gardener, enjoys reading and outdoor sports and activities.
