About Barbara

Barbara is a seasoned leader with over 35 years of Human Resource experience working and consulting in a variety of industries, including: Higher Education, Banking/Financial, Corporate, R&D, Not-for-profit, Manufacturing, and Medical.

Barbara is a strategic HR consultant and leadership coach and works with leaders to help them achieve their business goals through developing leadership skills, managing organizational culture, change management and talent management.

Previously, Barbara was the Chief Human Resource Officer at Skidmore College for 22 years, leading all areas of the Human Resources function, including significant work with labor-management relationships and as lead negotiator with six different unions.

Barbara has been an executive coach, consultant and facilitator in the areas of: Change Management, Leader Transition and Integration, Executive Search, Interview & Selection approaches, Team Building, Consensus Building, Leadership Development, Project Planning, and Conflict Resolution.

Additionally, Barbara has conducted training sessions and is asked to be a speaker in areas such as:  Effective Interviewing, Change Management, Conducting Effective Performance Feedback, Basic Facilitation, Effective Job Search Strategies, and numerous Leadership Development topics.

She has presented for various organizations and conferences, including: The Consortium on Higher Achievement and Success (CHAS), East Coast Higher Education Athletic Directors, and numerous presentations at National and Regional College & University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR) conferences, various SHRM Associations as well as a guest lecturer at Cornell University and Skidmore College.
