Audio Book Short List for 2012 Christmas Vacation

By Michael Holland

Leverage that driving or flying time this holiday with a good audio book!  Here are some books I’ve recently listened to on my iPhone.

Get Motivated. . . .1 hour, 4 minutes . . . What the Most Successful People Do Before Breakfast by Laura Vanderkam.  A great, quick hit motivational mini-book reveling habits others have built to lead happier, more productive lives.  This book motivated me to create new habits for my morning.

Gain Perspective . . . 26 hours. . . Andrew Jackson: His Life and Times by H.W. Brands.  A deep dive into the life of our 7th president revealing his depth of leadership, breadth of political savvy as well as his flaws.  This book provided great insight to the tenacity of a great leader as well as the long ripples of leadership decisions, good and bad.

Get Back to the Basics . . . 2 hours, 30 minutes. . . Great Leaders Grow: Becoming a Leader for Life by Ken Blanchard and Mark Miller.  An engaging business fable that reminded me of the importance of gaining knowledge and serving others as leaders no matter what our title.

Get Educated. . . 10 hours, 53 minutes. . . The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business by Charles Duhigg.   Since listening to this book, there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t think more deeply about a habit in my life.
